Jill K. Crockett

Jill joined Jones Divorce Law in 2018 with a passion for educating clients about their legal options. She is a senior lawyer with a deep understanding of the legal complexities involved in a family law file. As such, Jill strives to provide practical, cost-effective resolutions to assist clients in moving forward with their lives.
While Jill’s focus is to help clients achieve resolutions to their issues outside of the formal court process, where necessary, she is an effective litigator. Jill has experience representing clients at Provincial Court, the Court of Queen’s Bench and a variety of administrative boards and hearings.
Jill obtained her law degree in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia in 2006 and has been practicing law in Calgary since 2007. Jill began her career in family law and employment law and prior to starting with Jones Divorce Law, she was practicing health law with Alberta Health Services. With her unique health law experience, Jill can also work with client on matters pertaining to elder law and health law issues such as: drafting of personal directives and conflict resolution related to guardians and other decision makers, mature minors and seniors’ housing.
Jill is excited to return to a full-time practice in family law and work with clients to achieve resolutions in all areas of family law, including: separation and divorce proceedings, property division, common law separations, parenting arrangements and domestic agreements.
Outside of work, Jill spends as much time as possible with her husband and their three kids exploring and playing in the mountains. Jill also enjoys volunteering as a member of her community’s board of directors and as a coach and manager of her children’s sports teams. She has also volunteered with a variety of legal programs including Children’s Legal Education Resource Centre, the Legal Education Society of Alberta, and Calgary Legal Guidance. Jill enjoys speaking and writing papers, and has done a significant amount of legal education throughout her career.
